Juvenile Females Abducted from Bountiful, UT / Escaped in Santaquin, UT

UPDATE: Juvenile Females Abducted on 9-9-14 Found to be Fraudulent Report

During the ongoing investigation into the abduction, Bountiful Police Detectives were able to locate video evidence clearly showing the alleged victims in a convenience store during the time period of the reported abduction.

The two girls who reported the abduction were interviewed by Detectives and confronted with video evidence. Both girls admitted to falsely reporting the abduction. Charges against the juvenile girls for filing a false police report will be screened by the Davis County Attorney’s Office.

September 12, 2014

On September 9, 2014 at approximately 9:20 p.m.,  two juvenile females age 16 and 17 flagged down a vehicle on main street in Santaquin to report they had escaped an abduction.  The girls borrowed a cell phone and called 911 for assistance.

Santaquin Police Department responded and found the girls had some minor injuries not requiring medical treatment.  Santaquin Detectives began the investigation and learned the girls had been abducted in Bountiful at 2 a.m. and held in a vehicle until their escape.

The girls described two male suspects who forcefully abducted them and restrained them in a red SUV.  The SUV was driven by a blond female suspect.  The girls remained in the vehicle throughout their 19 hour ordeal until the vehicle stopped in Santaquin.  One of the girls defeated her restraints then aided the second victim in escaping the SUV.  The girls ran on foot passing several motorists who did not stop when the girls tried to flag them down.

Suspect Descriptions:

#1 White male adult, 20 to 25, light brown hair, slender, medium height, tattoo on left arm

#2 White male adult, 30 to 35, dark brown hair, medium build, tall

#3 White female adult, 25 to 35, long blond hair, heavy set, medium height

Suspect Vehicle:

Red SUV or Crossover – Unknown make or model

The Bountiful City Police Department is requesting assistance from anyone with information pertaining to this case.  We would like to speak to any motorists who saw the victims in Santaquin prior to them contacting police.
